Default Harlingen Texas Fishing....texan55

Going back down to the Valley next month and I remember you telling me last year there were some freshwater ponds in the Valley with Bream and Bass. Where are they, especially ones in Harlingen? Harlingen Sports Complex, Dixieland Park? What about Indian Lake in Los Fresnos? We went to Arroyo City last year and it was so crowded you couldn't fish. We'll be staying in San Benito so something there or around Harlingen would be great. Thanks....Kevin

There isn't a whole lot of fresh water fishing in the area of Harlingen (that I know of).. South Padre and the laguna madre are 30 minutes away.. The bay fishing is good to great right now. Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Snook etc. You can get a guide or do it yourself. You will need a boat for best results. There are some 1/2 day fishing boats for $25. but you will not receive the personalized attention a guide will give you.

you can hit almost any resaca or canal and find fish... dont bother with eating though.... just go onto google maps and look for the bodies of water, 90% of them have fish.
