Houston vs. Dallas vs. San Antonio - Which is best for relocation
any one have any suggestiions on which city would be best for a 40 year old, black, well-educated and professional black female looking for diversity, good job opportunities and buying her first home?
Also, which city is more single-friendly and has a progressive black population. I'm trynig to get a way from a rapidly descending economy and growing ghetto mentality that is starting to drown Cleveland, Ohio and permeate the suburbs. It's really getting bad here and is getting worse.

Well I wouldn't look at San Antonio, it doesn't have as large of black population as Dallas or Houston. The economy is better than both of those too.
Do a search on "Dallas or Houston" and I'm sure you'll get a vast amount of help .

Yeah Count San Antonio out if you want a real large black population.
Dallas and Houston both have a high number of African Americans. Both cities have things that cater to blacks as well such as restaurants, museums, HBCUs, and neighborhood. Just one thing, Dallas is very segregated. You don't really see alot of blacks dispersed evenly around the city like you do in Houston. Most of the blacks in Dallas are in the South Dallas/ Oak Cliffe areas.
Since you're well educated and want to escape a ghetto mindset, you might look in to the Pearland Area of Houston but hurry quick because this area is quickly becoming another Sugarland. Home prices and demand are nearly doubling in value. Also try 3rd Ward in Houston. Parts of it are considered "the hood" but rarely do you hear of any violence or danger. The good part about 3rd ward is it has very nice areas that are somewhat comparable with River Oaks. Lots of Black professors and professionals have big properties and lots of money. Not just in 3rd ward but all over Houston.
Good luck with your search

Either Dallas or Houston would fit your needs. You should probably consider your line of work and ask which city may be better for your field.

Well...at least San Antonio is in this one..LOL
Houston has the most blacks in Texas, and it isn't segregated over here. Either city wouldn't be a bad choice though.
