Default Need precise info on locations in Toledo, please

Hi--I have posted here before when I thought I might end up in Toledo, and I am aware of the good/bad qualities of the city (I am from Western PA originally, so it won't be a surprise). However, although I landed in Lexington, KY, I am going to end up in Toledo afterall next month. I saw an apartment advertised that is downtown at "Front/Main Streets" near a grocery store and the "Docks" and I was wondering if any of you know where that is and what it is really like--are there bullets flying around? Or is it just run-down? I would appreciate any other concrete info you could give me; we are going up over Labor Day to scope it out. My sister will be moving also, but she and her husband will be settling in a big house in a nice neighborhood. I will have to settle for what I can afford at a place that takes a dog and a cat too. Thanks so much--

This is the east side - not downtown. Downtown is across the Maumee river. The Docks are on the east side as well. It is run down. I'm not aware of anything like drive by shootings or how bad the crime is compared to the rest of the city.

There are some good restaurants at the Docks and bars downtown and you're close to 5/3rd field for Mud Hens games. The new arena is being built downtown too. You are close to I280 and the new bridge.

Hope this helps,

John

Hubby knew someone that used to live in that area. Said can be a high traffic area at times, but otherwise ok to live in. Not a high crime area from what he remembers.

Default thanks for the info...

Thanks so much for your responses. I am really nervous about this move, although I have lived all over the country. 30 days and counting down...

While I don't dabble much in the real estate of the Toledo area, I can provide you with the docket from the Blade. It will tell you what crime happened in what location. I'm sure after a number of dockets you'll see a patterns emerge.
