Well I heard back from the apartment at Heatherdowns and Eastgate. I think I'm going to go with them. The apartment is in better shape and closer to grocery stores. I noticed there's a Kroger and some other little markets in the area. It's also closer to my friends and seems like a much more safe area.

Now I'm trying to figure out the best internet provider for that specific area. I've had horrible experiences with Time Warner and would prefer not to use them.

Look into Buckeye Cablesystem. They're the main local cable tv / internet company.

Since your only a matter of feet away....check out Burger Bar 419, in the plaza on the northwest corner of Eastgate and Heatherdowns. They have excellent gourmet burgers. Just a suggestion!

Thanks Tobias. I looked up some companies online, but kept getting a lot of internet cafes as results. I'll give Buckeye CableSystem a call tomorrow and try to set up an appointment.

I'm not usually a big burger person, but their menu sounds really good. Maybe I can convince my friends to take me there after they take me on a campus/city tour .

If you're at all into hiking or nature observation, make sure your friends take you to Wildwood Metropark. I have so fallen in love with it that it's made me consider moving permanently to Toledo after I retire (and I've lived for nearly thirty years in SE Ohio/western WV).

Don't know where you ended up moving, Chad, but I hope if you did choose the Collingwood apt. you heed the other warnings here and avoid this store and the entire area where it is. There was just another shooting in the housing project behind it, Moody Manor, and this time a baby was murdered and her two year old sister is in critical condition and may never walk again.

1 child dead, another seriously hurt in central Toledo shooting - ToledoNewsNow.com: News, Weather & Sports for Toledo, OH

The area is the "turf" of a gang called the Manor Boys (I think someone else here mentioned them too) and it is a very UNSAFE area in which to be, even shopping for groceries during the day.

Honestly, I hope you chose the apt. out by Heatherdowns. The OWE is beautiful in its way, but it is surrounded by horrible neighborhoods that no out of towner should ever navigate if they don't have to.
If you did go with the OWE place, please do yourself a favor and do your shopping at the Kroger five miles away instead of this store on Cherry St.

Wow .

Yeah, I chose the apartment at Heatherdowns and Eastgate. I'll be moving in a few days.
