Since my family lives only about an hour from Toledo, I've often thought about relocating there. It's really the only city in that region I could see myself living in. I love the affordability, urbanity, history, and architecture there. The problem is I have a bachelor's degree in Social Work, and jobs in that field (at my degree level) are pretty slim to nonexistant there, or so it seems.

So my question is, are there any decent employers in the Toledo area where I could likely earn about $30k a year, and use my bachelor's degree to find an opportunity? It doesn't have to be in the social services field. I would appreciate any replies! Thank you.

I don't know if hospice is your thing, but Hospice of Northwest Ohio has a couple of social work jobs posted:

Hospice of Northwest Ohio

There is an "employment" tab near the bottom.

Promedica Healthcare System, the largest healthcare system in the region by far, has a couple of social work positions posted as well, although they are part-time and per diem. Here is the link:

ProMedica | Cancer, Heart & Vascular, Orthopaedics, Women's & Children's Health Services

Go to "job opportunities", then "search open positions", then put "social" into the key words box. Otherwise they might be hard to find, because Promedica has hundreds of jobs in various departments posted. I am an RN, and I know that social workers are also hired to do discharge planning/case management, so maybe something like that would be available as well.
