Default Any nice cities near Toledo?

I'm looking for a nice city within 30-45mins from Toledo. Excellent schools, safe area are important. Looking for family oriented area with dance studio, ice rink, and music studio not too far away. Any ideas?

Default Bowling Green

Bowling Green. Because it is a university town, it has at least most of those items.

I went to High School in Sylvania. It's got pretty much everything. My mom was a prof at BGSU and we moved to Sylvania for the school system. You can live in town, or head a few miles west and you have a rural area. I really enjoyed Toledo/sylvania. I even moved back after a while. I just moved from there a few weeks ago, however, I worked at a Chldren's museum, which just closed. If you have an q's hit me up.

You worked for Cosi? I'm so sad they closed, we were just there for the members only Halloween thing. Do you think it will ever reopen? I will check Sylvania out.

Wauseon, Napoleon, BG, Delta; all small towns. You may find Defiance has the entertainment things you want.

I will second the notion of Sylvania. I currently live there (though, I am moving to SF this summer) and I am quite happy with what is available in the area. You will have all of the things you were looking for in your original post and more. Plus, downtown Toledo is only 20 minutes away if you need a quick "urban fix." In Sylvania, you will be within 45 minutes of Toledo, Ann Arbor, Bowling Green and only about an hour from the Lake Erie Islands and Sandusky/Port Clinton.

It is a great city, with many resources, and VERY family-friendly/safe.

Good luck!

Don't mean to horn in, but does anyone have any thoughts on the town of Fostoria? I believe it's about 45 miles south of Toledo.

I can't find much info about it other than the standard census data stuff. Even this forum only has scant mentions of it.

I am considering putting in for a job there, but my family just relocated recently and we do like where we are.

The job in Fostoria actually pays more but I just don't know anything about the town.

Any thoughts, advice, suggestions, etc. much appreciated.

Hey Griffis !!
If you are into crack, Fostoria is where it's at !
Has a high crime rate for a town its size. Living towards Findlay or Bowling Green might be something to look into. I lived 10 miles away in Tiffin for about 45 yrs and moved down here to the Dayton metro area.
Try Fostoria Review Times Online That is thier newspaper website, you may be able to do some research on what ever concerns you. Plenty of small towns around that area that would be way safer than "fo-oh" slang for Fostoria ohio, also in use is fo-town. Findlay is real nice but the real estate is really high, bout 30 min. away. Bowling Green is a small town with B.G.S.U. serving as a magnet for various culture, entertainment, and of course partying interests, bout 30 min away.B.G.S.U. student population is about 25,000 during school year. Those are the 2 "larger" and nicer communities
that might be of interest to ya. Tiffin I would not recommend, it is dying a slow death.

My family live in Sylvania and it's a really nice place. I've also recently visited Perrysburg and they have made a lot of improvements over the years.
