I am comming to Toledo! please help!
I have been admitted to PhD program in Toledo university with 11000$ stipend per year. I have never been in US and I don't know about the costs in that city. Does any one know if this stipend if enough for 2 person for living in Toledo?

Sha 29. That is not very much money for any part of the country. Toledo is quite low in housing costs but for two people that wil be a challenge. Are any of your other costs taken care of ?

Congratulations on coming to Toledo for grad school. I've found my grad school education in Toledo very enlightening :-)
I made this because of all the recent posts about graduate students moving to Toledo:

Well are you or the other person going to have any other income? I think that would be enough for one person to live on at the minimum...cheap apartment, not a lot of extras but not sure about two people.

Will you be on the Health Science Campus or the main campus?
If the other person could make some income it would help out a ton. One person could live on $11,000 a year, but I think it would be impossible to have a car. You would need to live in a cheap apartment nearby and either walk or take the shuttle to UT.

Because, I do not believe Toledo is any worse than any other city. In every city you have to use judgement (dont go out and walk the street after dark), but your money is for that economy, in another city you may not have enough. As it is you will have to spend wisely. I look at it like there is good and bad in every place.. Just remember a lot of people see the glass as half empty. Know what I mean?
