A strong 'pro' for why Toledo should have its own board...
'Toledo Forum' has over 4 million listing in google - including this thread.
People looking for information about Toledo would find it easily in search results since city-data is an authority site.
The more people who find the board, the more posts it gets.

Hopefully the area continues to see a regrowth.

Welcome!
My family moved to Findlay from Metro Detroit last year and this site has been really very valuable!
So thanks for signing up and thanks for your interest in Toledo!

Viva TOLEDO!!! (says the girl from Findlay, who's really from Detroit)
No seriously, do we get to count Toledo, BG, Bowling Green, Put-In-Bay, Findlay, NW OH, NW Ohio, Northwest OH, Northwest Ohio and maybe even Lima? We've got a good lot of threads and posts if you look at the greater Toledo area!!!

Hey, I'm trying to help you out and I don't even live there! But...in posting so much, I have really learned some new things about my former stomping grounds. I'm coming back for a visit this summer and now have some great ideas for new places to visit!

Well, for what it's worth, I don't even live in or near Toledo...and have only been through there twice (actually it was once if you consider it was the same vacation in which I was traveling up to Traverse City and back. ) So I don't have a personal stake in this, other than I simply think there is justification for Toledo having its own sub-forum. I'm sure there are really nice things about the city...in fact, that new Skyway bridge up there looks nice. Too bad Cincinnati can't build one like that.

Then thanks especially for your unwavering support! Toledo is a nice place. When we lived in Metro Detroit we chose to members of the Toledo Zoo (which is a GREAT zoo) and COSI rather than the Detroit Zoo and Science Center.
Toledo, man, it's a great place to be!

We used to live in the Toledo area, and I think it should get its own Ohio forum simply because its one of the state's largest metropolitan areas and it is NOT ANYWHERE NEAR the other forum areas. If I recall correctly: Cleveland is about 2 hours away, Dayton about 2.5 hours, Cincinnati about 3.5 hours, Columbus about 2.5-3 hours depending on where in Columbus you're headed, and Akron-Canton about 2.5 hours (? never made this drive so not sure). Anyway, anyone wanting to find info on this metro area specifically isn't going to get it from any of the other forums.
And Toledo has Tony Packos. Doesn't that count for something?!

Honestly, I may have given up the fight. For some reason, we are not what they are looking for in a forum. "It's not us, it's them."
I posted a gagillon posts and at one point we had 50% of the recent posts of the whole OH forum. (In fact, I just went back ad checked and we still do. Toledo has had more traffic than all of the rest of OH put together for the past few days.) We tried to gather a lot of steam and interest and we did, but it seemingly wasn't enough.
Thank you to all of you who played along! Especially those not in the immediate Toledo/NW OH area and to the couple of new folks who jumped into the mix.
Admin must have it's reasons, but I am gonna walk away. Good luck to whomever takes up the gauntlet next...

Reason: Saw despite sitting at 50% of the Oh posts, we're still not in the game.

The reason there isn't a Toledo forum is discussed in this previous Toledo Forum request thread:
http://www.city-data.com/forum/ohio/...edo-forum.html
I won't claim to know the mind of Administrator, but I think they are more interested in overall numbers, and not just how many of the current threads on the Ohio front page are about Toledo.
If it's taking a special effort on your part, ImaMichigander, to make all these Toledo threads, then maybe it isn't meant to be right now?
