Isn't it a shame that people even have to ask questions like this in the year 2007? Why should
anyone have apprehensions about a potential relocation to any part of our nation based upon their sexual orientation? Aren't there more important things to be concerned about?

If it were up to me, Dodeca, I would not even consider my sexual orientation as an impediment while house-hunting. Look for a neighborhood that appeals to you, and then pounce on it; don't let others scare you away from your dreams. Hell, if I had a dime for every time people told me that I would never fit in as a gay resident of Scranton, PA, then I'd be a multi-millionaire!

I've now managed to assimilate rather well into the local landscape, and my sexual orientation is a non-issue to 99.9% of the region. I expect that even those so-called "soccer mom" areas such as Ottawa Hills and Perrysburg would eventually warm up to you if you proved yourself worthy of being accepted into the neighborhood through respect and dignity.
Best of luck to you in your relocation to Northwestern Ohio, but do
not for one second permit your fear of homophobia to dictate where you should settle down!
