best pizza in the Toledo area?
I'd do a poll, but have know idea how. Since there are loads of pizza places, which one/ones are your favorites? I like Vito's.

I think Vito's is pretty good, but kind of hit or miss, sometimes I get a great pie, sometimes it is horrible. I really prefer Marco's, they are my favorite, I really like their sauce. Cottage Inn is usually pretty good, had a few bad ones from there. Of course Papa John's is always good!

I grew up 15 years of my life less than a mile from Gino's and have never tried it, as far as I know.

You're talking about the little hole in the wall place that's not related to the "original" Gino's chain, right? If so I'm with you. I lived in Chicagoland for over 20 years and as a rule don't think much of Toledo pizza..but that place was awesome. But last time me and my friends tried to eat there last December it appeared closed.
As for the others..well, "original" Gino's is halfway decent, Vito's is ok (but don't dare go 20 feet from the nearest toilet for a day if you get Packo's pizza) and Papa's and Sorrento's are good on the east side. Marco's to me lacks flavor even more than Little Caesar's. Cottage Inn sucks, and Papa John's is worse.

Amie's Pizza is really good, too and so is J&G's in Sylvania-they also have the best gyros, in my opinion.

Im very familiar with Chicago its my second home and everytime I go back to Chicago, Its not the deep dish Gino's (expensive Chicago Gino's East) Pizza I look forward to or UNOs for that matter. The Original Gino's pizza here is the best pizza Ive ever had in my life IMO... Theres people I know from all over the country who come to Toledo and go back home wanting Ginos to open up in their respective cities including Chicago. One thing Toledo is missing is Harold's Chicken... Now thats the best chicken Ive ever had along with the mild sauce

Everyone I know either LOVES Original Gino's or HATES it, mainly because of the sauce. I'm the only person I know who's sort of "meh" on it. Just like how Chicago deep dish (which people mistakenly think is the ONLY kind of pizza Chicagoans eat..there's a Chicago style thin crust that if anything is even better) is not for everybody either.
Toledo could use Harold's, you're right. A Portillo's or Al's Beef wouldn't hurt either.

Oh yeah, I love Big Als Italian Beef.... To me it rivals the Philly Cheese Steak. You can't go to Chicago without having one.
