Now check out the real story at the Cherry Street Mission.
Cherry Street Mission
There are going to be people who abuse the options available to them, no matter what it is, but there are also people truly in need.

True, there are people who are in dire need of help, and there are people who do abuse the system. I am sure that the cherry street mission is doing wonderful things to help out many. But, what about the people that work there? Are they abusing the system? Why, are they letting these drunken men have access into the cherry street mission? I read the post, "Is the Cherry Street Mission just a place for drunks and drug addicts," and it sounds to me, that somebody, is pissed off at the staff members, and secondly at the drunks. Are the staff members abusing their powers? Are these drunken men their "drinking buddies," guys they hang-out with?

The mission is a homeless shelter and the fact is, many homeless are in fact drug and alcohol abusers. I think it might be like that at many shelters throughout the land.

Many christian organizations are exempt from state regulations, whether or not they receive state money. However, I do not mean what they are doing is wrong.
And I believe there is plenty of evidence to show that placing them in jails would be more expensive, if even over night. Hence the shift towards decriminalization of drug offenders that is sweeping the nation.

You may say, that the Cherry Street Mission, is a christian organization, but I beg to differ... take these social security checks, and pay for there overnight stays at the jail... not everyone who stays at a homeless shelter, like the Cherry Street Mission, is a drunk or an alcoholic... have you ever stayed at the Cherry Street Mission? I think not, but... read more......

Should this kind of music be playing, at the Cherry Street Mission....
"Let me lick you up & down..., I wanna get freaky with you..., Let me play with your body baby"... You read it, and be the judge of it. And the staff members just walk right past the radio and don't tell them to turn it off...

Should this radio station ( WIMX - Homepage ) be banned from the Cherry Street Mission?

I see there's nothing in the news paper, about a guest pulling a knife on another guest, at the Cherry Street Mission, in the parking lot, at the mission, yesterday. This was witnessed by two, Cherry Street Mission, employees. Shouldn't this have been reported to the Toledo Police Department? All that seems to have happened is that this man was told to sleep in the front foyer, of the mission.

Open Doors
Addicts, alcoholics, criminals, the mentally ill, abusers, and the abused all come to Cherry Street seeking a warm place to sleep. Yes, some people only come there to crash for the night, but it's possible that they will receive something more. We should not judge someone because they are a crack head or because they are users of the system... all we can do is show them respect and treat them with the dignity that all people deserve. We can show our brothers love and maybe, just maybe they will begin to love themselves enough to stop their destructive behaviors. We can show our brothers mercy and pity. We can lovingly teach them that there is more to life than drugs/violence/using the system/etc. And if they don't want to hear what we have to say, we can keep our doors open so they know where to come when they are ready to listen and learn.

OKAY, so now what about the corrupt staff members, what should be done about them? There the ones " feeding the fire," they stand around and do little to make any kind of a helpful change in anyone's lives, there just there to collect a pay check, and hang-out with there buddies that stay there. YES, some of them are there to do good, but, the bad ones out outweigh them by a lot.
