I owe my manager of the apartments I live in $400.00. I was counting on assistance from the state to help me pay for it.Well that fell through.I went and spoke to the apartment manager about the situation. He told me that if I spent an hour with him, he would forget about the rent I owed him.My fiance' works for the apartments as the maintenance guy and he told me that (Ray Apt. mngr) while they were on their way to Home Depot, Ray got a call from one of our friends that lives in these apts. as well and said that she couldn't afford to pay all the rent when it was due.Ray then says to her, well come over later and you can gve me a back rub, and we will forget about the rent.
Now my question is, can I sue this guy for making sexual gestures to me?

YES!!!! I would immediately contact an attorney (preferably a female.....not to sound sexist, but a woman would better empathize with you and not consider this a laughing matter) to see what your actions should be. Also, contact the owners of the apartment complex about this....their manager needs to be fired.

You may want to try Legal Aid if you are 200% or below FPIG.
LAWO website, and/or consult with your local sheriff. You can try calling 211 as well for further suggestions.

Hmm, I thought that it applied to employment, where a manager would make that type of offensive comment.

I'm not sure it applies to paying rent.

$400 for an hour is more than your attorney makes!

What is that referring to? It sounds to me like youre suggesting a night with the manager would be almost as expensive as legal fees... Please help me understand what is humorous about sexual harrasment.

Genuine harassment is NOT funny... This OP is...
If this situation were yours, would you go to the C-D 'Toledo' forum to seek advice? Especially as your one and only post?

The post suggests that the manager has the ability to either write off unpaid rent or is making up the difference himself. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
Is anyone foolish enough to pay $400 an hour for sex? Does your second sentence make sense?

No

no disrespect to the reputation of women, however, it is not uncommon for female tenants to "make arrangements" with apartment owners. but 1st i have heard with a manager unless of course he steals from the owner.

If you can't afford the $400 you owe in rent, chances are, there is no attorney that would want to help you out, especially if no physical sexual battery ever took place.

Chances are, the landlord has a lot more money than you, and will be able to pay for a good defense, kick you and your fiance' out on the street, and continue to make your life miserable afterwards. Then remember, if you do get lucky and find a lawyer to take this and you lose your case, your landlord can always come back and sue you for defamation/slander.
