Where in Alabama will you be?

In some parts of the state, you don't seen a lot of powerful tornadoes. While in other parts of the state, I wouldn't live in a place without a sturdy, below ground shelter whether it's a specifically-made tornado shelter or a really solid basement.

Right now my son is in Deatsville - north of Montgomery. We had planned to stay somewhere in between Montgomery and Birmingham along I 65 as he's been told that's the safest place but after the last string of tornados it has me worried.

I'd like a below ground shelter but people have been telling him the above ground is rated for F5s too and are less expensive.

We have an underground one here but we're on the Texas South Plains (near Lubbock.)

Tornado damage in Mayfield, KY is so extensive, reports suggest many homes and businesses only have foundations left. The local fire department is requesting assistance from others nearby.

A report from mayfield- All official emergency broadcast transmitters just went dead. This is catastrophic.

The infamous Tri-State Tornado of March 18, 1925 holds the record for longest tornado track in U.S. history at 219 milies.

That record might've been broken tonight!! EF-5 drought might be over too, but that's just speculation at this point. #tornado #weather #kywx #mowx #tnwx #arwx
