It doesn't matter if they are married or not if they can show that they are common law partners.

We're not currently married but live together, split bills, are in a committed relationship, etc. I know that a lot of the common-law and conjugal partner immigrations procedures can get tangled up in a lot of grey areas. Any ideas on how difficult common-law status is to prove or how tight the restrictions are?

I lived in the Beaches area of Toronto for 25 years. Nobody recommened it on the thread so I will. I think it's still the greatest area in the city. Very handy to downtown. Just a short streetcar ride away. It's got everything going for it. Beautiful and busy beach and boardwalk. Great shopping street, Queen St. east. Safe and friendly neighbourhood. Good parks. Good places to eat close by. Be sure to check it out.
