I am moving to Toronto from NY at the end of this calendar year, and I wanted to start a search for a mover to go with. I have 2BR full of furniture and various things, AND music studio full of instruments and electronics in a different location...

Does anyone have any good/bad moving company experience story to share? Also, how long did it take to clear the custom?

Any advice or suggestion is appreciated!! Thank you!

Default Moving also

Hi, I am also moving to Toronto at the end of the year. I came from Montreal with the company 12 years ago and got back in touch with them.
They have another company that they quoted me --and for a 1 bedroom with what I consider not much stuff they quoted me 3300 lbs. (may be less actually) for $2900+ . Two days to get it there. I am going to try to get a US quote and compare.
Nobody wants to move you and retrun empty I think.
I am trying to imagine how I could get my stuff loaded and drive myself.

I do not really know about the border but will be looking into it.
Hope this helps.

I want to share with positive story. I moved 2 weeks ago from NY to Toronto with a Toronto based company but it came to NY. Its Miracle Movers http://www.mmovers.ca. It was a very positive experience because first of all I did not waiti weeks to get my stuff to Toronto, I got it next day, but to Toronto it was the same day, just there were no time to unload these days. I am sure in it as I was presented to Canada border. I ordered 2 weeks before but as I understood now at winter time is not a lot of request in the whole moving industry so the price was more then reasonable. They required deposit from me. But it is everywhere. The guys comes to my place at 10 am load all, they seems to be very proffesional. And then I drived to Canadiana border and truck too. The management from Miracle Movers asked me to present there as it is required by canadian law, and then they came to my place next day at 9 am and unload, setup and placed the furniture where I needed. Cool job. If you wan't check them.

Try High Park. Just like Central Park. Davisville is very also very nice. Our subway is less extensive, although we are building more somewhat.

Here is a map of neighbourhoods Good luck.
