I moved to TO from Adelaide (now in the US) and did not meet many folks from Oz.

However, you may want to pop into Hemingways on Cumberland street and stalk the Aussie/kiwi accent
Hemingways | Yorkville Restaurant and Patio Bar | 142 Cumberland Street, Toronto Ontario 416.968.2828

or try the Anzac club

There should be enough Aussies there, after all there is the consulate on Bloor St.
If all else fails, start a meetup group.

You won't find many. Most Australians tend to stay in British Columbia; Whistler is almost an Australian ski town there's that many there. Why don't you just be friends with the Canadians? They're a little reserved, but mostly very nice people.
