You'd probably get responses like the church wellesley area for living as it is the toronto gay village, however from what i understand the younger generation of gays are somewhat avoiding that region now as to not "ghetto-fi" themselves anymore.

As for just visiting however that is the main touristy destination.

There is nothing touristy about the Church/Wellesley area. First, it is incredibly small, from Isabella to Alexander is only 600 meters, much much smaller than Montreal's I would say, and second there are mostly local stores, apartment buildings, restaurants, and a few bars. Little to see from a traveller's perspective. That particular area doesn't look that pretty either.

A tourist wanting to check out gay locations would certainly want to check out the chruch/wellesley region. I was referring specifically to the op.

Church and Wellesley aka "the village" is Toronto's gay village, but as Mhundred mentioned, most younger LGBT seem to stay away from it. It's mostly the older generation that hangs out in that area, but feel free to check it out. A lot of younger gay guys like to go to The Drake (Queen West) which is well outside the traditional village.
