Hello,

I am looking to purchase my first home. Me and my partner are dog lovers and decided that even though condos are great in terms of our budget they won't match our lifestyle. We have decided that a town home would be better. We live & work in Toronto, east side and unfortunately cannot afford to buy in Toronto. Our budget is a max of about 260k and we are looking for a minimum of a 2 bedroom and need a garage. We have looked at a home in Ajax and like the looks of the community we seen. (South of Kingston rd, near Westney) We have heard some "bad" things about Pickering and were wondering about the neighborhoods in Ajax, considering the proximity to Pickering? Any information about Pickering would also be welcomed. I guess the point in this post is simple... What are the "good" areas in Ajax. We are young but simple and relaxed, not looking for big parties, we want to be able to raise a family in a community where we feel safe at night.

Keep in mind, we do live in Toronto so we are well aware that crime does exist! My worry is that there is more crime in Ajax when considering the size difference of both cities. Anyone care to share???

Thanks!

I grew up in Ajax. South Bayly is nice. Avoid north of Hwy 2.
