Ha! I was browsing google street view in Toronto, and stumbled on this place. Yeah I get that it was discount, low rent, whatever one may call it, but it looked like it had a lot of kitsch. The kind of store I'd go looking for a barrel full of monkeys. Too bad I didn't get to see it.

It was the craziest place to shop lol. Not that I could personally do most or all my shopping there. But they use to have some crazy sales. Ex the $0.25 sale. They had things for this price scattered in different areas all over the store. I got some useful stuff. One time I got a bunch of CK, Hilfiger and Levis authentic hats for $2.99 each. Nail polish for $0.25.

Just random stuff. You never know what you would find. Also the store itself was fun of fun to explore. Lots of old signs and photo. The retail part of was not best or anything by current standards. But several decades ago before things like the dollar store this type of place was a place to find amazing deals. The owner really was a person that would think outside the box and do things other people would never dare to do. ex give out free turkeys and other things to people in the community. I think people like this help make cities/ towns etc great places to live. They are idea tanks and dreamers that try to do something special.

Kitsch is a good way to put it.. One guy called it a temple of schlock but great to see that the sign will be preserved and no better location than Mirvish theatre! In the end I think Ed would be happy about that.
