Taxi & Car Service question (taxi cab, live, cars)

Hi.

I've been holding off on asking this question, in thinking i'd come to the answer myself. Truth is, here goes..

I've lived in NYC for a few years now, drive during the day, don't take the subway. At night, if I need to go out, I call one of them Car Services, that are available. It's kind of like the Aerofleet Town Cars that are available at Pearson, with a Flat rate, comparable to Taxi.

The nice thing about this service, is that you call them from your home, and they pick you up.
And when you finish at your destination, they pick you up there too, all with a comfortable ride, not that I could compare with your average yellow-cab Taxi.

Long story cut short is this: I've lived in Toronto for 8 months in my life time, and in the downtown core. I remember using Crown taxi faithfully to call ahead, and get to my location. Afterwards, I didn't know better as I do now, and used to hedge my bets and pick up a cab on the street, with mixed success in the late hours.

So, I'm wondering after only visiting Crown Taxi's new website, if they offer the same service for pickup, from home, and after location? like i'm used to here.
I will be calling them in the near future, not from a central location from last time, and am wondering what your reccomendations are as Torontonians, for this service?

Crown Taxi should operate like any other taxi company in Toronto. You can call them either from your current location or you can hail one of their cars (or any other taxi cab company's car) on the street and they will drive you to your destination. Now unlike a "car service" that you'll find in NYC, in Toronto, when you're finished at your destination, you'll generally just call the local dispatch number that you called initially (the phone # that's on the car itself) and another car will come and get you. You could potentially make arrangements with the first driver to come back and pick you up, but generally you would just call the cab company again.

A good car service is Rosedale Livery, although it is more expensive than taxi. About $60 per hour. Although the good thing is they can pre-arrange your trip anytime. The best way is to order as far as in advance as possible. Their cars are all town cars and very prompt.
