Question Transportation advice to get from Toronto Pearson Airport to Downtown?

Hey Torontonians. I've haven't been to Toronto since the late '80s. But next summer I'll be traveling Toronto to see U2 at Rogers Centre. I've already started making travel arrangements.

I'll be flying from DFW Airport to Toronto Pearson Airport. However, my hotel is the Fairmont Royal York on Front Street in the downtown area.

I would like to keep my travel expenses as low as possible. So I want to avoid getting a rental car.

What sort of public transportation is currently available for people to get from Toronto Pearson to Downtown and back?

I read about Toronto Pearson's Airport Express service here: Toronto Airport Express - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Would that be my only option?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I would say the best way is to take a cab. Ask a couple what their rate is and take the best one. Find out if anyone on your flight is going downtown and share a cab and expenses. You can take public transportation from the airport but afyer a long flight and lugging my stuff I never feel like it. You really don't need a car and it's by far the best plan that you have. Parking the car would cost you more than the taxi fare. I stayed at the Royal York June 26 and 27. Great hotel great area. You can walk to anything.

I've taken the TTC bus to YYZ many times:
TTC Service to Pearson International Airport

I've taken the 'airport rocket' bus from Terminal 1 and 3 to Kipling Station, and from there hoped onto the TTC. You could take the TTC to Union Station, closest station to your hotel.

But I concur the airport bus is a lot more convenient. If there are a few of you could could check out a one way rental to/from Pearson (drop car off in the city, pick up a car on your way back), but this seems a hassle.

Airport Bus.

Second choice: airport limo into the city, the fares are set depending on where you are going in the GTA.
