After reading some reviews it is basically very similar to the 2010 model. Any of you happen to know if Toyota intends to utilize the plug in model in the 2011 version of the Prius.
Just wait until these over priced pos have to be scraped and people realize the cost they will have trying to get rid of them! Sorry, 8k+ for one of thesethings is a hell of alot of fuel money that 99.99 percent of drivers could never drive that many miles to justify the pos prius! And the .0001 percent that would drive that many miles to just break even on that extra cost? They are smart enough to know better than to buy the prius because with that high of miles, they couldn't give it away.
An fugly, expensive deathtrap that can't even be given away.
Fugly? Totally.
Expensive? Somewhat. The typical hybrid premium.
Deathtrap? No moreso than any other modern small car full of airbags.
Can't be given away? Wrong. They sell pretty quickly. I wouldn't want one, but plenty of others do.

Personally know 2 people in complete different areas of the country who made the huge mistake of buying one. Both hate it and can't get out from under it. Only place they are "popular" if you will...Ca. She asked MY opinion, I gave it.
I work for about 10 dealerships and their used car lots. When a Prius shows up, it doesn't stay around long and these stores aren't wholesaling them either. Fullsize trucks and SUVs still rule where I am, but there is a market for fuel efficiency too. I'm not defending the car, just pointing out that people do want them and they do sell fairly briskly. Like I said, though, I wouldn't own one. I'd rather drive my gas hog Suburban than be seen in a Prius.
The mpg depends on the driver. Some people push the car hard because of it's advertised mpg. Push it hard and it uses it's tiny gas engine more often. As aerodynamic as this car is, I'd like to see how it does without the battery and electric motor and replace the gas motor with a diesel engine.
