and i forgot to turn off the overhead light yesterday AM so it was on all day and all night. but the car started up this AM tho the car cranked over a bit slower and the lights were a little dim at first. now its fine.
did the car start because the overhead light (the interior lights near the front mirror) doesn't drain that much power off the battery?

Probably the traction control/vsc light that came on. So you are correct.
Your car started because you didn't completely drain the battery, and were able to get the car started with the juice it had left. Had the battery been older, or the weather colder, you might not have been so lucky. New batteries are way better than they were a few years ago...They seem to last for several years now, even the factory ones.
