I got a life-changing check of $29.23 in the mail yesterday, from "Toyota Economic Loss Settlement Administrator." I don't know much about class action lawsuits others than what I've read in John Grisham novels, lol. I do own a 2011 Camry, I' e read news reports about some Toyota owners having "unintended acceleration issues," (I have not), but beyond that I don't know anything about what rights I'm signing away if I cash this check.
I haven't gotten mine yet .I have a 09 corolla with the acceleration problem ..it has been " fixed " twice yet I can still get the engine to stick at a certain speed at will ..I just live with it .it is a stick shift and I just shift to neutral when need be and after about 30 seconds the engine will slow to normal ..yesterday I just received a recall notice about something to do with the air bag not deploying in a crash ...

Oh boy....
I haven't had any apparent problems with my '11 Camry, but indent want to sign away any rights if a problem comes up in the future. I'm not sure I want to take the risk for a $29 check. What a joke actually, that people with the cars get 29 bucks and the lawyers probably got millions.

And that is a fact! I hate class action suits for that reason. Lawyers should be limited to only a small percentage of any settlement, like 10% or less IMO.
I owned a 2010 Vibe (Toyota Matrix clone) during the recall years and haven't received anything on it.

Anyone else?
Here is a thread that was started on the subject last month.
Just got one for 2004 Camry; we already sold that was never part of recall. Anyone not involved in recall gets one as settlement by court for loss of value from publicity. No rights in future given up by cashing it. Its separate fund from those involved in recall the article I read says.
I got a check in the mail two weeks ago. I still own the 03 Toyota Sequoia. It has 222,000 miles and no major problems, including the acceleration issue. Not sure if it's worth my time to go to the bank to cash a $29 check. Who gets the money if I don't cash the check? Hopefully not the lawyers. I wouldn't be surprised if the lawyers anticipate many consumers ignoring the check.
