Wondering if anyone else is having these issues: the trunk gets lots of leaves and black gunk - in the "well" at the top just under the trunk lid as well as along the sides, the side windows have some kind of seal issue as I get moisture and white spots on the rubber strip, the windshield black "something" that is around the windshield is all cracking and missing in many spots (when I washed the car - a rarity - I see moisture in the "inseam" if that makes sense?), under the part that covers the gas cap gets a lot of buildup of dark, oily "stuff" it not sealing well or??? - any thoughts on these issues? I need this car to last me for a LONG time (and I only have 35K or so miles and bought new w/8 miles on it) - TIA
If you can post pictures, that would help. I also have a 2010 and have had to replace the rubber seals on the R/H side windows due to the sun drying them out. Also the upper seal along the windshield has pretty much disintegrated but no leaks so no issue with me. I have the dirty crap that gets in the gas cap area. I just clean it when I wash the car which is about 6 times a year. I am hoping you have taken care of the engine better than the body.

My 1993 Corolla probably has less issues than your 2010.

Thanks - I haven't been able to figure out how to post pics. (which taking anyway is a pain - I don't have a smartphone) - my tire pressure sensor seems like it's bad too - Windshield isn't leaking but I do seem some moisture (from the outside it's visible) - along the edges when I wash it. I have to check into the rubber seals on the side windows - they always have white spots and are wet after it's been raining. Otherwise! It's been a great car and I plan on keeping it until it falls apart (I had my last Corolla for 20 yrs.). The engine looks okay to me... by taking care of you mean regular oil changes, etc.? (I also pop the hood sometimes and get out all the leaves that seem to keep making their way under the hood).
Why do you think your tire pressure sensor is bad? And yes by maintenance I mean regular oil changes and filter changes. Also check your transmission fluid and coolant although at only 35K miles both should be fine. I don't get the white spots unless it is some kind of fungus growing on them. May just need a good scrubbing.

It initially would come on when the weather temp. dropped (understandable) - recently though I was on a trip last month (it was to farthest WV point) - and the temp there was colder - it came on - stayed on through a drive of 50 mi. or so - never went off - a friend checked the tires - all were at the perfect 30 lbs. - the next day I took it to a tire place (which has a good rep.) - they topped it a little and it went off. Next day: I head home - it stayed on for 150 miles!!! (and it was 60+ degrees here at home) before it finally went off.
Now - it came back on again the other day (I don't drive my car everyday) - it was above freezing, hadn't dropped below - light stayed on the entire day throughout all my errands.
Update: the tire pressure light never went off. I took it to a trusted mechanic, he checked the tires and then reached under the dash - there is a button that needs to be pushed - no light now!
