I'd take it to get it inspected by a mechanic i knew before buying like always. But that low milage adss about 1200 dolars to teh value and is not that uncommon. probaly one reason the dealer has kep it to sell o their used lot. They get rid of alot of high milage vehicles at auction.Check the retail price at edmonds.com which is what a dealer will charge at least. Check if it was bought there new and if they have a computer record of maintence on it. Many time they do.
I have purchased two "super low miles" cars. Some think it is suspect, but I also put way fewer miles on my car than average. In 06-08, I think we put less than 4K on each car per year. It's now higher since we moved to fly-over country where people drive to the mailbox.
Anyway:
In 2005, I purchased a 2001 with 24K on the ODO.
In 2009, I purchased a 2005 with a shade less than 8K on the ODO.
Both vehicles are champs. Both still smell new. I did change all fluids on both of them at purchase though, even if it "didn't need it."
M3 is right though. Recently while shopping for a used car, I found an Accord with 320K on it. Looked great. It was on a dealer lot and had passed PDI. :-)
I wouldn't be concerned with the low milage either...perhaps the vehicle was simply used for weekend trips upstate or whatnot. I have an 07 Sport and I love everything about it (tho the climate controls could have been designed better). Wonderful all around vehicle, fun to drive, GREAT on long trips and very comfortable. The 4Runner is one of the few vehicles made by Toyota still exclusively assembled in Japan and build quality is excellent.
