I wnat to go on a vacation somewhere but i dont want to rent a car. Im 23 years old which is not old enough and I only have a budget of about $1500. Also I dont have a drivers liscence where I live beucse the public transportation system is so good. I am thinking of going somewhere in the USA where a car is not needed for travel. Im from Toronto which has a good public transportation system. Im wondering what cities in the United States are for travel on foot and without a car. Ive been reading about diffrent places. One of them being New York City. I just receved my passport in the mail and i plan on going in July after Canada day and Independence day in the USA. I dont plan on spending a long time on vacation. Just maybe four days.

NYC is an excellent city for walking with a subway system that runs 24/7 and it combined with the buses can get you anywhere you would like to go in the city.

Philadelphia is very walkable and has good mass transportation. I haven't driven my car in months. And why not spend Independence Day in the city where it all started? Welcome America

NYC, Boston, SF and Chicago come to mind. I love all those cities.
