In the where are you going/have you been threads, so many of you listed some really cool places. But no one comes back with photos/trip reports! I would love to hear about your experience and see pictures of a particular place. I'm always looking for new travel destinations and love hearing about someone's travel experience!
If you can get past all of the photos of people we traveled with there are some decent area shots of remote Southeast Alaska here. We had a very good time traveling on the Safari Explorer in May this year.
Those pictures are awesome! Alaska looks like an amazing place. It's one of the 2 remaining states we have left to visit and I can't wait to go. Thanks for sharing!
I got back Tuesday from a 12 day Globus tour of Ireland. We visited 19 cities and town and Garanish Island. The tour was a lot of fun. I got to see the Book of Kells and the old library at Trinity College, find out how they make Guinness stout, have a pint produced right at the brewery, view all of Dublin from their observation floor and have dinner there; visit Kilkenny Castle, kiss the Blarney stone and Blarney Castle, learn about the Irish immigration saga at Cobh (formerly Queenstown), visit Muckross House, do a jaunting car ride, see part of the Ring of Kerry (very scenic), attend a medieval banquet outside Limerick, see how an Irish farm operated at Rathbaun Farm, see The Burren, knock back a couple pints at the O'Donnell Pub in Clifony while listening to a performer perform Irish music, see the Cliffs of Moher and the Giant Causeway, visit a Connemara marble factory and the Belleek China factory, walk the old city walls of Derry, do a driving tour of Belfast, learn about the Mezolithic corridor burial mound at Knowth and attend an Irish caberet. As you can see, we did a lot. I enjoyed the tour so much, I can't wait to do my next one (Peru hopefully).
