I'd rather stay home than share a room with a dozen people--sounds more like hell than a vacation.

No. Unless it was an extenuating circumstance. Jiminy Crickett's been whispering in my ear since the 50's.

Ethical? We arent talking about smuggling people of the border, just having some folks sleep on the floor or couch of a hotel room for a night. I figure you pay for the room. If you dont trash it, you can bring in whoever you want. I regularly have 4-10 people in a hotel room, haha. Keeps the costs down.

It's completely unethical and I would not.

Heck yes, we have. Not 6-8 people, but one other person.

Yes once, we booked a 1500 square foot 2 bedroom suite and thought the extra 100.00 per person per day was ridiculous. I booked the room for 2 people , we had 4 people, and tipped housekeeping and the room stocking person very very well.

I haven't.
Can't believe there's even a question as to whether it's ethical or not...

An absolute no!

When we going on vacation to Key West we stay at a lovely suite and it states right in their confirmation letter additional people are subject to an additional nightly fee per person. Any unregistered guests qualifies for all people to be thrown off the property and money will not be refunded.
