Have you considered long-term parking. In most airports it costs $8/day which, for 15 days would cost you $120. Also, some hotels will let you park in their lots if you spend a night there before your flight.

Alternatively, look at the cost of a taxi, shuttle, public transport or getting a friend to give you a ride.

I would not leave it in a WalMart or other such location. Too much risk of it not being there when you get home.

I didn't realize LAX had 8 dollar/day parking. In MIA the parking is 30 a day! I was trying to avoid paying this. I can afford 8/ day The reason I ask is because I will not be moved into my new place in LA yet before I fly out. I am moving everything in after my trip so I won't be settled in LA.

Yes. Security typically patrols the lots at night and they'll notice if a car hasn't moved in a few days. Even if they don't there's a good chance thieves will.

Leaving LAX on a Thursday before noon and coming back late Tuesday night. Anyone in those neighborhoods know of a Wednesday Street Sweeping area? This would let me drive close to LAX leave it for six days and still get free parking. Any tips would be much appreciated.

With the amount of people that come and go.. would they really be able to keep track of the cars? What do you think my chances would be of coming back to a repo'd car?

I agree it is a bad idea to leave your car at a Walmart or any store parking lot. It will be noticed it isn't moved for a few days and it could be towed (which would mean you might have to pay a fine and storage fees to get it back). So as others have suggested either pay for airport parking or find someone to take you to the airport that can also take care of your car for you while you are out of the country.

There might be a hospital parking lot in a convenient location. It is not unknown for patients to leave their car while they are hospitalized, which would not arouse suspicion.

I think the parking issue may have been solved back in 2010 when the original post was made but I could be wrong.
