Hi, was just wondering if anyone has traveled out to NYC and used their hotels. What does the average 2.5-3.5 star hotel hold for incidental fees?

I dont have a credit card anymore, and whenever I stay in hotels I've always just put down a cash deposit. Many times I dont even like to do that as I never order anything and if I get breakfast I just pay the cashier. I'm looking at planning a trip there next month but Im a bit leery at the amount of holds they may want to take. I am familiar with cities along the east coast...Few hotels want to charge you the room PLUS a 1 night hold!

Is it possible to go to NYC hotel without a credit card for incidentals, even if pre-paid online?
