My Wife wants to go to Daytona Beach from September 12-17. What would y'all recommend for things for Us to do in and around Daytona?

Beach of course. And then the normal central florida attractions (only 90 minutes away). Kennedy as indicated above also a good choice. If you get into racing I think you can also take a tour of the track.
And a little bit north is St. Augustine if you like history.

Great time to visit, although it is hurricane season chances are you won't be affected. Spend extra for a nice hotel, right on the beach within walking distance of the pier. If you get tired of the kitsch, head down to New Smyrna or Cocoa Beach for a more relaxed atmosphere and better beaches.

You can also drive or ride the track with the Richard Petty Experience in a faux Nascar. They also have a nascar museum there.

Marineland (between Daytona Beach and St. Augustine) has a dolphin show. The park was generally old and run-down when I went there, but I may have heard it was renovated ?? You can get plenty of advice on Daytona Beach here: Reviews of Hotels, Flights and Vacation Rentals - TripAdvisor

I remember when I drove past there they said they were shut permanently, so anyone interested may want to check on that.

Beach of course. I have also gone to a few Daytona Cubs games because im a big baseball fan but their season will be over by then (unless they are in the playoffs). Day trip to Old Town St Augistine could be fun. There is a lot to see there.
