It's a site where people that have been to/lived in a place can leave tips and add photos. I think they have sections like off the beaten path, weather, and sports. The site starts out with a world map, then you can click on a country/state. Can anyone think of the name of this site?

No, it's not lonely planet or trip advisor. I used to use this site a lot and it's bothering me that I can't remember the name.

I like Virtual Tourist, I've been registered there for about 5 years now.

In terms of budget travel, Eurotrip is similar to Bootsnall as well as the ThornTree; its transportation and cheap flights sections are especially active and helpful.

TripAdvisor is the best site as far as reviews that i have found but even then you have to take reviews with a grain a salt.
