From your own experience which is the best web site/search engine to check on/purchase airfare to Germany?
I checked Orbitz, Onetravel, Expedia, Kayak, Priceline, Booking Buddy, Cheapair, Travelocity, Matrix ...
Thank you!
I would say directly from the airline that you're going to fly out on. When I took my trips to Germany, I did it directly from the Lufthansa website. You avoid bookings fee that way too.

Iceland Express flying from EWR (Newark, NJ) with a stopover and change planes in Reykjavik (KEF) to Germany(Berlin) is one of the options and a very frugal one.

Another benefit of booking directly with the airline is that they can work with you on resolving issues with your reservation should they come up. I used to book my flights with Expedia but when I did my Seattle/Canada trip, I found the lowest price directly on Alaskan Airlines website and booked it. Less than 24 hours later, I realized that I needed an earlier flight into Seattle and contacted Alaskan to explore my options. Turns out that since it was less than 24 hours since I booked, I did not have to pay a change fee ... The only thing I had to pay was the difference in ticket price as I was leaving out of a different airport to make the earlier flight. I shudder to think of the hassle and expense had I gone through Expedia versus the airline. All my flights since then (except one) was booked directly with the airlines.
Follow Airfarewatchdog and Farecompare.
We have to go to Dallas this fall, but I was putting off book a flight because it was so expensive, and the cheaper flights had connections.
Airfarewatchdog clued me in to a cheaper fare with a nonstop flight on Friday.
I went to the airline and booked.
The Iceland Express fare is great if the traveler can be flexible with dates; I have been keeping an eye on it for a Paris trip.
