Our family is used to staying in Marriott's and Sheraton's, where the breakfast prices are outlandish. On the way back from a recent trip, we stayed at a Fairfield and the place offered a free breakfast. That got me to wondering just what hotel chains offer a free breakfast. I have searched high and low for a list all on one page, but to no avail. Can you kind folks help me compile one?

Here are the two I know for sure:

Fairfield
Hampton Inn

That's because it doesn't go by the chain, it goes by that hotel

Embassy Suites has a free buffet breakfast and a 2 hour long free Manager's Cocktail Reception in the afternoon.

Residence Inn
Homewood Suites

They also provide free light dinners and free beer and free wine M-Th, and free internet. That's four "free"s in one sentence. I love that word.

We paid $8.00 per person at the Marriot. Hampton Inn`s breakfast is pretty decent.

A lot of even cheap motels offer a free "breakfast", which is a simple buffet, with coffee, juice, doughnuts, bagels, cold cereal and milk.

In Brazil, the cheapest little pension, there will be a self-serve loaf of bread with butter and jam and a coffee pot set out in the morning. You can't depend on anything else, but the bread, jam and coffee will be there.

We always take things to supplement the breakfast buffet in case it is lean, like loaf of good bread to use in their toaster, our favorite peanut butter, and a bag of granola.
