My husband and are in the early planning stages of a trip to Egypt - we would like to go for about 1 week to 10 days including a cruise down the Nile. I saw the Sonesta cruises and was wondering if anyone here had been on one of their cruises. I normally find good information on tripadvisor, but there was really none on this.

any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

I can't remark on Sonesta but there are literally dozens, maybe more than a hundred, nile cruises operating.
I am going on a nile cruise in November. I did my research and concluded that most of the nile cruises are generic, they have the "star" rating system which is pretty accurate - 3 star/4 star, etc. They are also very difficult to book from the US, or expensive to book, most of the cruise lines are owned by resort hotels, so most of my research advised to book with a local (Egyptian) travel agency...or you can book yourself when you get there, with some amount of hassles.

I assume you have done your initial research and have a travel agent and itenerary in mind. So you know the basics (i.e. most cruises are 3 to 4 nights and leave from either Luxor or Aswan.

So, anyways, I didn't sweat the cruise selection. But just check the Sonesta website to see pictures and see if it is something you like:

Tripadvisor - Many of the tripadvisor comments are plants anyways, you can usually tell if its a users first post and it is abnormally postive.
