I am a legal US citizen and will be traveling to mexico in a couple of weeks. When i return to the US, i will be going through immigration in Arizona. Unfortuneately i have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for domestic violence in this state. Will i be arrested at the airport because of this?
Thanks!
Denise

Reason: incorrect spelling
actually goofing around with my brother in a bar and an off duty cop wanted to be an a$$. My brother told him we were just playing around and he wasn't pressing charges, but the cop decided he was going to press the charges himself. That was in AZ, i live in FL and have yet to deal with it...shame on me!
You should have just taken care of the warrant. It will be picked up in any state any where. If you get a speeding ticket in Alaska you will be arrested. If it was just your brother and you not doing anything go to Arizona, tell the County attorneys this and they will most likely drop the charges and your done.
A customs agent at the airport told me that they arrest more people (usually on warrants, for people coming back in) then any other law enforcement entity in the U.S. You bet they do checks, at airports anyways, its all in the database.
For a misdomeaner, probably not a worry, but who knows.
An arrest warrant is exactly what it says. It is a document that allows law enforcement to arrest you any place and time they choose to, within their jurisdiction. Pay your fine before your trip, if you don't they will most likely take you directly to jail from the border crossing checkpoint.
