I was just looking at flights from Ft. Myers to NY for November. I would prefer to fly into Islip rather than JFK, but Jet Blue doesn't go to Islip. SW flights are more expensive and most of their flights have layovers. I don't want to spend hundreds more dollars to spend hours longer getting there and sitting around in Orlando.

Jet Blue, go to LONG ISLAND too.

TANaples, have you tried sites like vayama.com and farecompare.com

They usually have pretty reasonable prices. I've never flown through JFK. I've always flown through Newark (which is always an interesting experience). Hope you can find something to suit your travel needs!

Minneapolis #3, nice! Guess all the remodeling money was put to good use.

Charlotte was surprisingly impressive, same with Austin. Didn't like DFW or Denver,....maybe it was overhyped and my expectations were way too high?

I really like O'hare and Denver. LAX sucks, so did Sea-Tac although I haven't had much experience there since the 90's and my understanding is they have done some revamping. Portland's is great because its small with a simple layout (ugly carpet though).

Still the most stressful airport experience I've had was going through immigration at Miami international and that was enough to make me not want to go back.

As a Houstonian all I will add to my original post is that every time I go to Bush Intercontinental, I feel like I'm in my living room. The place is just so dang....comfortable. Coolest airport I've ever been in though was Stockholm's Arlanda Airport (it's other airport, Skavsta, was pretty neat too). Imagine Ikea designing and furnishing an ENTIRE airport. It was really pretty but also REALLY functional.

I already knew Orlando would be one of the top airports by my many flights from and to that airport plus all the tourists I came in touch with that said that it was the coolest airport they had seen before.

As for the airports I've been to well here they go so that you can see how valid my comment is....(not saying I've been around as some may assume like they do all the time on city-data....I am giving my list to show I have been to more than 2 airports...lol)

Here are the cities I've been to their airports...

Miami
Orlando
Ft. Lauderdale
Chicago
Charlotte
LA
San Fransisco
Dallas
Nashville
Atlanta

I liked the Minneapolis airport-seemed nice and easy to get around in.
