I put Asia, under the assumption that means East Asia (a.k.a. the Orient). If it includes all of the '-stans', then I would change my vote to SE Asia.

Very hard to choose but South America and Central America have always been a great favourite of mine, because of my personal interest in Pre-Columbian and Meso-American Archaeology and the stunning variety of landscapes and wildlife. Not an easy choice though.

I have to choose between Costa Rica and Thailand (never been to both) for my next "dream" winter holidays : it's a quandary...

I love Thailand ( away from all the over-developed tourist spots) but I would recommend Costa Rica if I had to pick only one ( hard choice though !).

Costa Rica once you get away from the beach resorts is simply stunning and a lot of eco tourism means some wonderful places still unspoilt but offering a comfortable experience. Costa Rica really is a fabulous place. If you are interested in Costa Rica you would probably love Belize too.
