That looks like the underwater ruins off the island of Yonaguni, near Okinawa.

This beautiful waterfall is found nestled within some of the oldest mountains on earth. They are estimated by geologist's to have been there for roughly 500 million years. It is spring fed from an underground aquifier.

What is the name of either the waterfall or the mountain range?

This rock castle is found very near the waterfall:

ps: This range of solid rock hills would not be considered a true "mountain range," today, though they are still called that. No peaks rise above 1200 ft in elevation and the local relief is probably no more than 200 ft. Geologist's believe they were much, much taller but time and erosion have done their jobs.

It's really easy to get to. A major, 4-lane highway goes nearly right by it.

Is it also NOT the Appalachians? I just got up and started reading clues, and it sure sounds like Appalachians to me.
