It all depends on the weight of the airplane. I will guess that the 717 has a rotation speed of around 130knots give or take 7 knots depending on the weight of the plane. Heavier the plane is the faster it needs to go. Also landing is the same more the plane weighs the faster it will be going. I will estimate that the 717 will land at around 125knots.
So for landings 125knots is about 145mph while 130knots is 150mph.
So both around 140-150mph.
170-160mph is too fast for a plane the size of a 717 thats more 747/777/A380 speeds.
like if they take off at 166 instead of 165 mph is it a big hazard?
what if a pilot wakes up with nausea and he's/she's not sure if it is from a virus or he/she ate too much the night before and it will pass?
what is he/she supposed to do?
I know, this one of the most morbid questions you've ever read here, but can a pilot fly a plane feeling slightly ill (like I've gone to work and it passed in a few hours) or is he/she mandated to call in sick if there is any doubt as to how they feel?
are there replacement pilots standing by just in case?
