What kind of info are you looking for? I am a female who travels solo all of the time for work. I don't really have any general advice other than the usual "be aware of your surroundings" type thing.

One hint: Carry a small purse with long straps that you can cross over your body. BUT ~ keep your c.c. and i.d. (and extra cash) somewhere else on your body that "they" can't get to easily. Been a trick of mine for a long time. If someone manages to seize my purse (which wouldn't easy to begin with), all they'll find in it is change, reading glasses, Advil, lipstick, and toilet-seat liners).

Lots of us travel solo by choice, and there are many safeguards and ways to be cautious. (my first advice is to leave Phoenix for a nicer spot.... YMMV)

Never flash cash. Use cards
Get minimal cash at attended ATM's (Banks, Credit Unions) during daylight.
Don't mention you are by yourself (to rental car place...)
Stay at a decent hotel with indoor corridors and plenty of security. OR stay in private guest homes (I use a Church based directory, that has very detailed profile of hosts and I have used all over the world for 25+ yrs ($10 / night)). I sent a single gal and her 2 HS daughters on a 'round-the-usa' road trip. They were skeptical of the guest homes till they tried it, then they traveled exclusively via guest homes the rest of the trip PS: you learn A LOT about an area by staying with locals.

Minimize trips at night.
Park under lighted spots (I prefer to 'back-in', so I can see my way OUT, and not turn my back)
Carry a whistle
Dress Casual and active
Look "Real Mean"

Take a 'self defense' course

Pointy shoes can be intimidating to a man.

If you carry/use a guidebook, which I often do, get one of those stretchy book covers for it so it's not so obvious you're a tourist.

Just stay in good areas.. I mean if you're staying in the country its really no different than leaving to go out to the supermarket by yourself if your own city
