So far I'd have to say Chiang Mai Thailand, and Pai Thailand (although Pai has become touristy), and Buenos Aires/Mendoza Argentina.
Wow. I loved both Pai (15 years ago) and Mendoza. Great minds travel alike. I spent a week up at the Tham Lod Bat Cave, on the Burmese border out of Soppong, nowhere to sleep except in a few thatch roof huts, and there's a little place that cooks simple Thai food. You need to hitch up there, or hire a motorbike to take you. The highlight of Thailand, for me.
My two all time favorite countries were Ireland and Turkey, but for pure scenery I'd take Ha Long Bay in Vietnam or any of South Island New Zealand. Or Machu Picchu.
