been 6 years since I even left my town...Husband in school and I lost my job in Jan. He's working 80 hours a week and I'm staying at home with the baby.. It'll be another 6 years before I probably leave town .. I think of all the wonderful places I want to go. London, Ireland, California.. I wonder if I'll ever even get to to see them

Mexico, March 7-31, 2011. By the looks of it, I'm a lot less lucky than some people but much more fortunate than many in this respect. I went on that trip after a job loss and around the time student loans kicked in, because I thought that it may be the last chance I had for to travel before I died of my malignancy. In 2013, I'm still alive and kicking, with a sudden desire to go to Southwest England.

We don't really feel the need to go on vacation as we live in a great area with a good climate and lots to do. I am retired, my wife is a homemaker, and we have the financial means to pretty well do what we want. We have our home fixed up like our own private resort.

We normally take 2 long trips to New York City and Hawaii every year. We used to go to Mexico every year but not so much any more. We also take 3 or 4 shorter trips to Monterey CA to visit our son and grandkids and we go to Las Vegas now and then. We take several 3 day getaways to Palm Springs and San Diego which are only an hour away.

We take all these trips just because we like to but we have never felt that we needed to.

OBX in NC back in 2006. That was when I was 18. I turn 25 this June, and I still don't have one planned. =\

Don't worry about it. I didn't take many vacations when I was your age either.

Early January 2013 I went to Argentina for 10 days. Before that it was like 7 or 8 years without a legitimate vacation!!! Next up is a potential trip to the Pacific Northwest (Ross Lake, WA) or the Porkies for a few days in August.
