9, 13, and 14 are the most important ones, but none of them are secrets.

Some of this is interesting, some of it is silly.

#4: The DOT doesn't tell airlines that they can't delay a flight (aside from the new 3 hour rule, which is a whole thing in itself). They simply gather statistics and publish them (actually the Bureau of Transportation Statistics does that, but I assume they get a lot of help from the DOT). How do you simply not take a delay on a flight? That's like saying you hate being sick so you've just decided to stop getting colds.

#9: Regional airlines are perfectly safe and saying otherwise is playing into people's fears of flying. While the hiring minimums are lower (duh, you don't start out flying a 777 in America, it takes time to work up to those things), they're held to the same safety standards as the big airlines.

The biggest thing that passengers should be concerned with (hopefully to the point of writing their congressmen) is #5. Good luck beating the airline's lobbyists though.

Jeez. I thought it was going to be about the markup on those little bottles of booze, or that most stews are lez.
