If you read what I said, I said that there is management LIKE ANY COMPANY. Then I go on to explain the unique layers that make flying so expensive.

They have the same configuration as any 737, 3 x 3. There's just so much in the body of a plane. The seats are 17" wide with a pitch of 32". That's the same as US Air, Delta, and United, and less than American who have a 17.2" width.

I don't know any carrier that would deny anyone who indicated that they needed to preboard due to special needs the ability to do so.

Did you think that perhaps you don't fit into the "average travler" demographic?

I don't think it's all that expensive. And about half of those "layers" are unskilled or moderately skilled labor, the same as any company.

I'm not as well versed on plane configurations but I do know that I tend to feel more squished when I fly Delta and American versus Southwest. Maybe it's the way the seats are configured ... I dunno ...

Maybe so. But if I'm driving there anyway, I'll sure take along a passenger or two a lot cheaper than the airline will.

Yup ... The more passengers in the car, the cheaper the trip becomes if everyone contributes towards the cost. Also, it is cheaper for a large family to drive versus fly as gas prices are not "per person" as with the airline.

Considering that every plane I've been on lately has flown full with standbys left at the gate, air travel is obviously not out of the question for millions of people a year. It's not just the wealthy who are flying, either.
