I am planning a trip to the bahamas and would like to go in Sept/Oct but that is the peak of Hurricane season. I was checking the weather for December and it is still warm (low 80's high)

but what is it like for being at the beach? Will the water be cold? We are going there to check out resorts to hold our wedding in May. We are kind of planning it as a part vacation part research trip.

The water will be at least in the 70s in the dead of winter.

Sep/Oct will be fine for weather, I went to Nassau in January and the weather was beautiful , 75-80 every day. I don't typically go in the water, but I can assure you that unless you're from Miami, the water will feel warm to you in those months.

Hurricane season shouldn't be a big deal if you go closer to oct. I honestly wouldn't worry too much. The chances of a hurricane hitting a specific spot are actually quite low, but obviously always possible.

Most of the resorts have heated pools, so the Bahamas is usually safe for winter travel.

The weather will be perfect in December for someone like me from Miami the water may be a bit cold. Cold as in the 70s for most people the water is great. October should not be bad either, towards the end of October storms are pretty rare. As said before storms are rare to begin with for a certain week but if you dont want to take the risk December should be fine.
