Depends on where you are staying and what kind of accommodation you have and what you want to do when you get there. Belize has the mainland which is where you'll find Belize City (give that a miss), mayan ruins and rainforest resorts. There is also a myriad of small islands all around the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world which provides visitors with fantastic snorkeling and scuba opportunities. You can stay in 5-star resorts that own an entire island and swim, sunbathe, fish, scuba, etc or in 0-star resorts that don't have hot water and a lightbulb hanging from the ceiling.
We looked into visiting Belize a couple of years ago, and decided it's so expensive that it wouldn't be what we consider "good value for money". But then, we're both frugal by nature so I could be a bit too harsh on their prices.
My sister and BIL went there a couple of years ago and all they talked about was the ocean - related activities, like snorkeling. It's apparently wonderful for that.
