about everything in New England can be a weekend trip (Having been raised on the prairie where you might drive 100 miles for groceries once / month.)

I go to NewEng frequently. Fly into Boston or Manchester and roam from MA to New Brunswick. Have done focused trips to the major attractions, but I love staying in private guest homes ($10/night). I read the host's profile and find a person that interests me, and go visit for awhile. Often on a lake, coast, farm, or in the mtns of New England, and a lifelong resident with the scoop on the area. I seldom end up at tourist spots, but get to see lots of local stuff that many tourists miss.
