Did anyone actually read the article? They aren't getting rid of scanners, rather,

This basically means that the EU is just upgrading their backscatter scanners to millimeter wave scanners. Congratulations, now they can see an even clearer picture of you!

Umm, things like that get in the way of spewing uninformed bombast.

By the way, there was a recent item on the News Hour (PBS, an actual source of informed debate about issues). There IS a lack of independent review of the characteristics of these machines. That's something that might be worth objecting to/
